Claim Deadline: September 27, 2023

Effective September 27, 2022, FedNat Insurance Company (“Company” or “FedNat”) was ordered into liquidation by the Second Judicial Circuit Court in Leon County, Florida. The Florida Department of Financial Services (“Department” or “Receiver”) is the court appointed receiver for the Company. Copies of the Liquidation Order and other relevant information are available on the Department’s website, https://www.myfloridacfo.com/division/receiver/.

With the entry of the liquidation order, the Florida Insurance Guaranty Association (“FIGA”) has been activated to help pay outstanding Florida claims for property and casualty policies for claims prior to June 1, 2022.  The processing and payment of covered claims will be made by FIGA (subject to the lesser of policy limits or FIGA’s maximum cap). The maximum amount FIGA will cover is generally $300,000 per claim.  An additional $200,000 is available for structures and contents on homeowners’ claims.  No claim will be paid in excess of this cap. For more information on FIGA’s claim handling see the FAQ section of this website.

For losses incurred prior to June 1, 2022
The Department is currently gathering claim files and claim data to forward the information to FIGA.  As a result, there may be a delay in claim processing during this transitional period. Until further notice, please continue to contact FedNat using the contact information below to check the status of an existing claim or to file a new claim incurred prior to June 1, 2022.
